Zidane case: FIFA to decide behind closed doors

Latest news from Monsters and Critics on the Zidane issue:

Zurich - Football’s controlling body FIFA on Monday said that the disciplinary hearing involving French player Zinedine Zidane and Italy’s Marco Materazzi would be decided on Thursday behind closed doors.

In a statement FIFA said: ‘The case …will take place behind closed doors without the presence of any members of the public or media.

‘After the two parties have been notified of its content, the Disciplinary Committee’s decision will be announced exclusively by means of a media release on the same day.’

We wish Zidane well and hope that the results will in his favour. We also call upon FIFA to punish Marco Materazzi for his racist insult by either banning him or expelling him as a professional football player, to be made an example to all football players that they will never get away with racism.
