Terrorism.
Zinedine Zidane, who is of French and Algerian ancestry, head-butted an Italian player who insulted him. Although Zidane in an interview Wednesday would not say what words provoked him, a lip reader hired by the Times of London claims Marco Materazzi called Zidane “the son of a terrorist whore.’’
That’s pure trickle-down politics. From the White House to the soccer pitch, “terrorist” has “cooties” and “your mother wears combat boots” flat beat as the top playground potty-mouth slur for the 21st century.
Who’s surprised? The Bush administration has been scattering the word like ticker tape on a Manhattan parade. Old McDonald left the farm for the NSA, and now it’s here a terrorist, there a terrorist, everywhere a terrorist.

President Chirac, greeting Zidane with a “headbutt” a day after the final match between France and Italy. Zidane is still a hero to his people, regardless….
Its a shame that it ended the way it did. A coveted Cup within grasp, only for it to elusively escape him. But at least he did leave his mark in style, didn’t he?
FIFA, the world’s governing body on football/soccer, will open a disciplinary investigation into Zidane’s headbutting.
ZURICH, Switzerland — FIFA will open a disciplinary investigation into Zinedine Zidane’s conduct in the World Cup final, when he was sent off for head-butting Italy’s Marco Materazzi.
World soccer’s governing body said Tuesday the incident had been spotted by the fourth official without using a monitor, who then alerted referee Horacio Elizondo through their communications system.
“FIFA will open a disciplinary investigation into Zidane’s conduct to enable it to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident as exactly as possible,” FIFA said in a statement.
Barely a few hours after we made a marketing campaign for this blog and went lifelive, someone in the Malaysian blogosphere made a call for the French Headbutt Promotion to stop. Not surprisingly, an idiot who can’t even get his own domain name have singled out this blog for attack.
