Moratti: Materazzi “not for sale”

Inter supremo Massimo Moratti says that there will be no way that Italian centre back Marco Materazzi will be leaving the newly crowned Italian champions for Barça this summer. A pity. If I were him, I will certainly sell the player and get those San Diego used cars that I’ve always wanted.

The Spanish press have linked the no-nonsense Italy defender with a move to the Camp Nou over the last week, but Inter are keen to see that not happen as they see him as an important part of the club.

“Materazzi is a symbol of Inter,” Moratti told Marca.

“We do not have any official confirmation of Barcelona’s interest nor has there been an offer either.

“But I must say that he is not for sale.

“Materazzi is one of the most important players for Inter.”

Materazzi, who was infamously headbutted in the chest by former France and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane in last summer’s World Cup final in Berlin was the scorer of the goal which won Inter this season’s Serie A title.
