In this particular Euro 2008 qualifier all eyes were on Samir Nasri who is tipped to be the next “Zidane” but Marseille’s Franck Ribery stole the show with the opening goal thanks to a pinpoint pass from Claude Mekelele before Man Utd target Nicolas Anelka sealed a comfortable win for France.

Adi Dassler Fund ropes in Zidane for “Right To Play” global campaign

Zidane is roped in to fund a global charity cause. Good for him, it is great to see him still around and playing a role for world peace.

MUMBAI: International humanitarian organization Right To Play, the Adi Dassler Fund and international football star Zinedine Zidane have joined forces to launch a global initiative to raise funding for Right To Play programs around the world.

In doing this, they will raise awareness of sport as a tool for addressing critical development issues, like the lack of basic education and health information and the impact of conflict.
The centerpiece of the awareness initiative is the Right To Play symbol, a red ball. Right To Play has been using the red ball to represent its organization and as a symbol for change through sport since 2002. Together with adidas, Right To Play has re-designed the ball and for the first time is launching a global initiative to create awareness of the organization and for the role of sport for development in some of the most disadvantaged areas around the world.

Real Madrid coaches excited by Zidane Jr potential

Will the son replace the father? Real Madrid sure is excited about their latest find and potential replacement for Zizou.

Real Madrid have their long-term successor for Zinedine Zidane - his son, Enzo.

Enzo Alan Zidane is playing for and captains Real’s junior team and scored his first goal yesterday. The 12 year-old has been part of Real’s junior setup since 2001 and his progress has coaching staff excited about his prospects.

To keep the spotlight away from the youngster, Zidane is registered as Enzo Alan Martinez by Real, but comparisons are easily made with Enzo playing as a natural No10 and captaining his current team.

Zizou named his son Enzo after Uruguayan great Enzo Francescoli.
